Children's Safety Programs
Over 12,000 children each year are trained at Kiwanis Safety City at the Alberta Safety Council's Edmonton site.
Kiwanis Safety City
Kiwanis Safety City features a miniaturized traffic and pedestrian site. Life-size operational traffic lights, railroad and pedestrian crossings and scaled-down buildings donated by supporting corporations all give our site the look and feel of an actual working city.
Children's programs are offered in the following areas:
Scooter Drop-ins (4 – 7 years)
From June to August, we also schedule one-hour, public drop-in sessions. This allows children to visit Kiwanis Safety City, learn the 7 Steps to Safety and ride the battery operated scooters.
All children attending must bring and wear a CSA approved helmet while riding our battery powered scooters.
